What is a Grafted Tomato Plant?
Grafted tomatoes are essentially two plants spliced together. Heirloom tomato plants are known to have exceptional flavor but are prone to fungal, bacterial, and disease issues. By grafting heirloom tomato varieties onto vigorous rootstock, grafted tomatoes can out-produce and out-compete heirloom plants, without sacrificing flavor. We graft both heirloom and hybrid scions onto your chosen rootstock.

We graft using High Power, Tenacity, Forte, Bravura, Reliance, Truster (TD2), and Booster (TD1) Rootstock. Ordering Grafted Tomato Plants
Grafted Tomato Plants are available only in 72 count trays. Graft trays are sold at 70 grafts guaranteed per tray. If a tray is less than 70 grafts, the price will be adjusted and other varieties/rootstocks will be offered if available to meet the order numbers.
Graft Mixed Trays Options
Graft Mixed Trays are available to ship Week 12-22 (Week of March 21 to May 30) for the 2022 season. Single variety trays are available year round. We offer 4 pre-set mixes and do not take special orders at this time.

Planting Grafted Tomatoes
We recommend transplanting grafted tomato plugs to the field or greenhouse within 3 days of arrival for optimum results. When planting, do not bury the graft point below the soil line. Remove any suckers that grow below the graft point as these are from the rootstock variety and will not yield good tomatoes.

Booster (TD1)
Vigorous rootstock with a multi-disease resistance package. Ideal for long-term greenhouse production.
Bravura*
All around strong performer for disease and vigor. Moderate water uptake. Good balance between vegetative growth and fruit production.
Forte*
Strongest resistance to bacterial wilt with modest vigor. Good choice for hot, high temperature regions.
High Power*
High resistance to bacterial wilt with moderate vigor.
Reliance*
Excellent disease protection with increased vigor later in crop cycle. Good choice for dry or heavy soil conditions.
Tenacity*
Good all-around disease protection. Good balance between vegetative growth and fruit production. Easy to control with moderate vigor.
Truster (TD2)
Highest vigor rootstock with a multi-disease resistance package. Ideal for greenhouse, high-tunnels, and open-field production. For use with less vigorous scions.
